Cheddar Squash Puff

2 pounds zucchini or yellow squash
1 cup sour cream
2 beaten egg yolks
2 stiff beaten egg whites
2 tablespoon flour
1 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
4 slices bacon, crisp cooked, drained, and crumbled
1/4 cup fine bread crumbs
1 tablespoon butter, melted

Thinly slice unpeeled squash to make 6 cups. Put in microwave with a little
butter, and cook 2 minutes, stir, heat 4 more minutes, stir then test. If
not cooked all the way heat minute by minute till soft. Drain. Combine sour
cream, egg yolks, and flour. Fold in beaten egg whites. In a 12x7x2 baking
dish, layer half each of the squash mixture, egg mixture, and then the
cheese. Sprinkle with bacon. Repeat the layers of each again. Sprinkle with
bacon. Combine bread crumbs and butter. Sprinkle over all. Bake uncovered
